A MARANGE woman successfully applied for a protection order against her former best friend, whose boyfriend she allegedly snatched.
Manica Post reported that Tellmore Mandikate had to seek the court's intervention to stop Shylet Musira of Sakubva from assaulting and insulting her, accusing her of snatching her boyfriend only identified as Farai. The two are in love with the same man.
They appeared before Yeukai Chigodora who granted Mandikate the protection order.
Mandikate told the court that they were once friends with Musira, but she fell in love with Farai when they once broke up.
"The two had separated when Farai proposed love to me. I accepted his proposal, but when they reconciled I could not let him go. She only needs to accept that I am in love with Farai. Instead, she has been taking advantage of her masculinity to assault and insult me, ordering me to leave Farai for him.
"I used to stay in Sakubva, but I relocated to Marange because of her. Still she followed and assaulted me and my baby. At once she poured a bucket of urine on me and my three-year-old child," said Mandikate.
She added that Musira always accused her of being a witch and casting spells on Farai so that he could love her. In response, Musira confirmed the allegations that were being levelled against her by Mandikate.
"Of course, I assaulted and insulted her for failing to respect me as her friend to the extent of falling in love with my boyfriend. We used to be good friends with this woman. She used to stay at my place dating Farai's friend. Little did I know that she had interests in my man. They started a relationship behind my back in 2013. She should just leave Farai if she wants peace with me," said Musira. She denied ever assaulting Mandikate's three-years-old child.
Chigodora ordered Musira to observe peace against Mandikate and advised her to talk to Farai if she had problem with the love affair that they were having.
