....Hubby implicated in witchcraft as school male teachers woke up in female underwear
A TSHOLOTSHO woman died after disclosure of witchcraft by her husband's alleged accomplice. They were accused of rearing goblins at a local primary school.
Eight families from Phelela village in Tsholotsho were evicted by the chief after a massive exorcism by the traditional leadership and a traditionalist from Ndolwane area in Plumtree.
One of the evicted families, Mr Jacob Dube said his wife died of shock after they were named in a witchcraft disclosure.
However, Dube denied practicing witchcraft saying those who implicated him were his adversaries who were jealous of his success and good life.
"Bangiqambela amanga ukuthi ngiyaloya. Ngaqanjwa ngabantu abalomhawu ngoba ngilomuzi omuhle. Khathesi umkami watshaywa yistroke ngenxa yestress sokuthi kuthiwe siyaloya," Dube said.
Dube said his wife died last week and was buried at West Park Cemetery in the city, but refused with her identity.
"She suffered a stroke at our rural home after one of the suspected wizards had been named alongside other villagers. It surprises me why he decided to implicate me," he said.
He said he was suffering double tragedy because he lost the love of his life.
"What pains me most is that my name was never mentioned by the prophet but by other wizards. I am now a widower because of malice," he said.
Dube said he tried to reason with the person who named him to understand why he implicated him but he became unreasonable.
The prophet from Plumtree named eight households as part of the group that was rearing goblins at Phelela Primary school.
Teachers had at some point deserted the school after complaining that goblins terrorised them day and night.
Reports from the school at that time said goblins were forcibly changing male and female teachers' underwear.
Male teachers would reportedly wake up putting on G-Strings and thongs while females would wake up putting on men's boxers and briefs. The family was evicted by Chief Siphoso Dlodlo.
