ZANU PF members in Masvingo province have been urged to be united as the Province gears itself to host the forthcoming December 2016 National People's Conference.
In an address to the Masvingo provincial co-ordinating officials during a meeting at Victoria Junior School last week, the ZANU PF National Political Commissar Cde Saviour, also Kasukuwere declared that some suspensions that were meted against some certain individuals in the province were null and void.
He implored some party members to work as unity and make sure that the province get down to business in preparing for the hosting of the forthcoming December 2016 National People's Conference. He further said that the province was destined to open a new chapter that could be characterised by unity and togetherness.
"We have one choice, which is to unite and work together in Masvingo. We have to work together and there are no two ways about it. We have said that this issue of suspensions and counter suspensions has to stop, we are starting on a new clean slate".
Cde Kasukuwere said to the gathered co-ordinating provincial officials in Masvingo. He went further to say that only suspensions for the serious offenses would stand but for the minor problems they were all null and void.
Cde Kasukuwere's remarks were also echoed by Cde Josiah Hungwe one of the politburo members in the province who implored the Masvingo party leadership to work together as a unity. Cde Hungwe said that if the party leadership in the province is united such a move would cascade down to the grassroots structures.
In an interview with this writer, Daniel Chimusoro of Kuwadzana who comes from Zaka in Masvingo hailed the move taken by Cde Kasukuwere in his effort to bring peace and unity in the province.
"I like the way how Cde Kasukuwere has approached the issue in Masvingo and I think if all ZANU PF members could heed his call for unity and peace the opposition would never get any chance against this revolutionary party". He said.
The call for unity by Cde Kasukuwere followed another call for unity by President Mugabe when he visited that province last month. The President made it clear that ZANU PF members should not be antagonistic to each other but need to be united and be peaceful to one another.
