SUNGURA music outfit, Orchestra Mberikwazvo, has been threatened with legal action for allegedly failing to settle a R16 612 debt.
This is said to have been accrued after hiring another organisation to design its logo and regalia for resell.
Mataga Promotions has written to the Orchestra Mberikwazvo outfit demanding that they settle the debt within the next five days or risk facing legal action.
Through its lawyer Knowledge Maeresera of Maeresera and Partners, Mataga Promotions said Orchestra Mberikwazvo failed to pay after contracting them to design the logo and other clothing.
The letter of demand, which was addressed to Alick Macheso reads:
"Our client advises us that you contracted it to design a logo and to supply you with duly designed T-Shirts, hats, berets, scarves, amongst other items containing the aforementioned logo.
"Our client did as agreed and you were supplied with the aforementioned items.
"We are advised that of the agreed amount you have not paid R16 612 and the amount has been outstanding for quite a long time.
"Several promises to settle your debt have been made but not fulfilled.
"In the premises we are instructed to demand payment of the sum of R16 612 aforementioned together with our collection commission in the sum of R1 661 in terms of the By-Laws of the Law Society of Zimbabwe.
"The total amount in the sum of R18 273 must be paid deposited into our trust account with five days from the date of service of this letter failing which our strict instructions are to issue summons for the recovery of the stated amount as well as costs of the suit.
