The Zanu-PF Manicaland Youth League has recommended the expulsion of the Zimbabwe National Liberation War Collaborators Association (ZILWACO) Manicaland Provincial Chairperson, Angelina Mponda from both the ruling party and ZILWACO following alleged utterances which undermined President Robert Mugabe and Zanu-PF.
The Youth League provincial executive members unanimously agreed that Mponda has crossed the red line and should be expelled from the party forthwith.
"We as youths are the vanguard of the party and we will not allow Mponda to cause divisions and disunity in the province," Zanu-PF Manicaland Youth League Provincial Chairperson, Mbuso Chinguno said during a press conference.
Chinguno added that any party member who deviates from the December conference resolutions which endorsed Mugabe as the First Secretary of the party and the party's presidential candidate for 2018 elections will not be intertained.
Responding to the allegations, Mponda distanced herself from the utterances, saying it's a plot to tarnish her image.
Meanwhile, preparations for the 21st February Movement celebrations are progressing well and expectations are that more than 10 000 youths from Manicaland province will attend President Mugabe's birthday bash which will this year be held in Matabeleland South Province.
