Kadoma miner Jame Nyamarebvu has accused the Principal Director in the Minister of Information Regis Chikowore for abusing public officer by using it as a tool to try and frustrate him from mining at his mining claims situated inside his relative Herbert Chikowore's farm.
He said Regis Chikowore has been fighting to grab his mine and investments.
He claimed that Chikowore has been sending gangsters he has been sending to harass and beat them and none of them has been arrested.
"Can that not be abuse of office. If the President behaved like that, everything must have belonged to him then. Do you think the President is aware this is what they are doing?" he said.
Nyamarebvu said his case against the Chikowores is back in court at the Bulawayo High Court again.
"I wrote letters of complain to Mashonaland West Provincial Mining Director and posted to him one of those films in which my tractor and employees are being stopped from mining and my John Deere green Tractor is being blocked and stopped from carting gold ores from my mine to the processing plant. Instead of being helped I was directed to stop mining," he said.
"I have written several letters to the PMD.and numerous visits to Chinhoyi asking the PMD to carry out his investigations but all efforts have been falling on deaf ears. As at this day I'm sitting on a huge employees' salaries back log. They have even taken me to the local Labour Office and also hired the services of The Federation of Trade Union demanding their salaries. I have nowhere to get their salaries from, as a result they are most likely to attach my house if I'm not allowed to resume my mining operations soon."
He said after they had allowed him to inspect his mine, 2 days after a story was publish on a newspaper, he inspected and brought his permit to transport gold ore to his mills, their armed guards evicted from his mine by the Sheriff of High Court.
"I started working but under heavy threats and beatings from the Chikowore people. I complained to the PMD, ZRP Kadoma DIPOL, BCMU and Kadoma Rural police, I was stopped from mining instead of being protected. I'm forwarding the letter stopping me and one of the films of what they were doing, stopping my tractor," he said.
"Final demand for non payment of mining tax for the mine. I had to organise a payment plan with the district council but still I'm failing to pay the agreed amount. EMA as well I owe them thousands of US $s for the mine and they are behind my back as if I'm not a good citizen. They are threatening to take me to court for their money. Doing business in our country is like more than committing crimes now yet I'm also a black Zimbabwean, who also participated in the liberation struggle of this country."
The hearing date in the court case is yet to be set.
