Peace and Reconciliation must begin with truth- MRP.

Mthwakazi Republic party spokesperson MbonisiGumbo has said for proper Peace and Reconciliation to take place the truth must be said.
He said it is surprising that the Bill which they want to pass is being crafted in the Ministry of Justice, which itself is led by Mnangagwa who is the number one perpetrator of Gukurahundi Matabeleland Genocide.
"Those people who are perpetrators must be arrested first before we talk of reconciliation. Mnangagwa is on record saying that Gukurahundi genocide is a closed chapter, water under the bridge and yet he is the very person who is crafting the so called National peace and reconciliation," he said.
"We attended the National Peace and Reconciliation Bill hearing in Bulawayo's Large City Hall which began at 10:00am to listen to the government plan on how they want to deal with the 1979 Shona Grand induced Gukurahundi "Matabeleland Genocide" that killed thousands of our people in Mthwakazi."
He said the MRP position is very clear that they want government to unconditionally accept responsibility of this senseless mass murder of innocent Ndebele people by a tribal government of Robert Mugabe.
"We are for "FOR TRUTH, PEACE AND JUSTICE IN OUR LIFE TIME" and we stand for that, nothing more nothing less. The National Peace and Reconciliation Bill is a non starter as long as it is spear headed by the ZANU PF Junta led by Mugabe and his people. We are happy that the majority of uMthwakazi people agree with MRP that, there can not be any reconciliation before truth confession. The Paliarment deliberately removed Truth in that bill to shield the real perpetrators of Gukurahundi," he said.
"The Bill as it stands gives government of Zimbabwe through the Minister more powers in the day to day running of the commission. The Mthwakazi Restoration Agenda was also also raised, People of Matabeleland said they are tired of being undermined by Harare and they now want their country back."
He said the commission that has a ten year tenure and is expected to seize to exist in 2023 is a joke.
"The presentations made in both Matabeleland and Mashonaland clearly shows that our problems and theirs are not the same. In Mashonaland they don't talk about Gukurahundi as the basis for peace and reconciliation, while we in Mthwakazi believes that Matabeleland Gukurahundi genocide was the beginning of all our problems as a region," he said.
"Mthwakazi people want to know why does that Bill have Amnesty? We want the government to tell us why did they kill our people? People raised concerns that the Bill does not include the diaspora. There are some people who ran away into Diaspora during Gukurahundi disturbances and they were never accounted for. The people who killed thousands of our people must answer and must have their day in court."
Gumbo said Mthwakazi's only acceptable compensation is the Restoration of its state as it were before 1893.
"Which peace are you talking about when the government officials still spends their time and resources in Mashonaland while there is nothing for Mthwakazi? There can never be peace when government of Zimbabwe only employees Shona people," he said.
"Sixolelana kukuphi ngoba ko Mthwakazi asila mgwaqo, asila ntuthuko abantu be Mashonaland basuka khonale kibo bezokwakha la besiminyezela ngenkani? Kuxolelwana kukuphi lina lisithathela umhlabathi wabokhokho bethu? People of Matabeleland want the truth to be told, people want proper history to be taught, they want ZAPU, ZIPRA and Gukurahundi Matabeleland genocide to be taught at schools."
He said the youth who presented at the hearing stated that even as university students their are being sidelined on the basis of their names, surnames and where they come from.
"They said they are failing to get attachments let alone employment yet Shona people are being employed in Matabeleland so what are we reconciling? The Bill must be rejected out rightly because it has nothing to do with us in Matabeleland. We also reject the very composition of the the Paliarmentary select committee that came to Bulawayo. They are mostly from Mashonaland and they don't understand our languages and cultures how do we trust such people that they will fairly and honestly save our interest?" Gumbo said.
"As a party we are happy that the people of Matabeleland are speaking with one voice. We want self-determination , As long as Mugabe and ZANU PF still want to rule there is no need of talking about this bill. Mugabe killed our people together with his Junta members and those people are still in charge of the affairs of this country and have never accepted responsibility of killing yet they continue to kill up to today. Elections are coming next year he is expected to kill again."
He said the New Constitution of 2013 has not been fully used and yet they want us to believe they are sincere why should we trust them?
"Why are they not implementing the Devolution of Power, why haven't they repealed POSA if they are genuine? Nothing will stop us from demanding our State back. One women said that what will this commission do in dealing with fair distribution of National resources, she said recently she rejected a tenant from Harare who came here fifty of them to be security guards at the expense of locals, she refused because the also has own children who are in employed and they can also be security guards but they end up being forced to illegally go to South Africa in the process risking their lives," he said.
"Yet their jobs are being taken away by Shona people. What will the bill do about thousands of Matabeleland people who got raped, robbed or killed while trying to cross to SA these are also victims of tribalism in this country. People say what reconciliation are you talking about? When Shona people still come from Mashonaland to dig our mineral resources in the process beating, killing and raping locals."
