Huro wants to make Chenhaka a tourist attraction
16 Mar 2017 at 07:04hrs | Views
Mlambo Reuben known as Huro (38), a former business man and a writer is interested in developing Chenhaka business centre located in Zaka. He wants to make Chenhaka business centre into a tourist attraction territory even though it's a rural location. The business centre is located on 12 kilometer peg from Mashoko Hospital along Chiredzi road.
In 2015, Huro started constructing an upstairs shop which he is dreaming to run a bottle store and butchery. He raised the building up to the window level where he is to fix a balcony. The man, a heavy weight in terms of planning for the future, experienced some barriers to complete his building. He is also planning to drill a borehole for the purpose of growing crops to run a goat project, piggery and all other poultry projects. The borehole will be the source of water.
From the time I know him in 2010, he believed he will find someone who will be a Good Samaritan to him by giving him some money so as to full feel his ambitions. I once gushed out tears towards his day dreams; I mean I laughed at him. I once told him that if he was going to have such a good person who will be willing to help him, I will surrender my leadership to him as a Village head or I will give him my old wife and he laughed at me. He once talked about Wicknel Chivayo and Phillip Chiyangwa as potential donors. He has some feelings that he would grab the chance to pull out of the obstacles which hinder the smooth pathway he started in.
'I have once head about Chivhayo and Chiyangwa and reading them in presses as well seeing them talking on televisions but I do not once talked to them,' said Huro. 'If I would find something like $10000, I hope I will finish constructing my upstairs shop,' he added. 'It's only that I am living far remotely that I do not have the chance to network with these sharks (Big fish). Mathew 7 v 7 says, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock and it shall be opened unto you: I am asking for these sharks to help me. You can laugh at me Mr Tembe but you may one day close your mouth,' said Huro.
I, Tembe, the village head, see Huro as a potential business man to develop our area if he could grab the monies. He is that character who loves the society. During his time in operating a business, he used to accommodate clients problems and solve where ever need the attention. I have already allocated him the land to run his projects. I have given him the land for drilling the borehole and for crop growing and the grazing area. Before he got broke, his business was flourishing zvaienderana nezera rake. Paakatorerwa ma getsi zvinhu hazvina kuzomufambira zvakanaka. He loves writing novels and poems in shona.
'I love writing poems and Nganonyorwa (Shona stories). I have tried my manuscripts to a cetain publisher whom I would not want to disclose and he told me that my shona was not very strong and was not suit even to be read by a grade one leaner. I did not get upset but the only thing I had to do was to take my manuscript and waved a hand to this publisher. I pack my things and go. When I reached home, I take my manuscripts to a well known writer and he told me that I am a good writer who is very creative and my manuscripts qualify to be read by the society even to be chosen as a set book. In the coming future, I am looking forward to publishing some of my manuscripts. Chero zvazvo mabooks angu nemapoems angu andakanyora akazova ma set books; it will be a fortune to me and my family but the most targets is my manuscripts to be read by school children not to gain money from them. Zvinongozouya zvinongozouyavo hazvo handizvirambi asi chinangwa kukurudzira dzidzo yevadzidzi vemu Zimbabwe.' Huro said last week.
This man is struggling in all angles to raise funds to complete his attractive building and to start running the projects. I laughed at him ndichimuti do you think kuti Wicknel wako iyeye wauri kutaura nezvake kana Chiyangwa will look at you but he said he has the feeling that he may receive something from one of them.
'I will one day celebrating, ndichange ndiri mudenga rechinomwe muchazviona Sabhuku. You can take my number asking me if anything has happened to me. This is my number 0772650534,' said Huro handing me a piece of paper containing his mobile number.
You never know kiss goes by favour, I told him.
