ZimFirst Leader Maxwel Shumba has condemned the members of the Zimbabwe National Army who reportedly rampaged on the Midlands State University students attacking and injuring some of them in the process.
"Growing up I never knew, as cultured Zimbabweans we would have to teach adult in our nation the value of life.ideally, a self professed Christian nation there would be no need to teach each other on the value of life. Life's value is written in black and white in many verses of the Bible, including in the 10 Commandments. Our culture is rich in education that enhances the respect our love for each other," he said.
"(President Robert) Mugabe and the regime he installed do not value life. Day in day out we read about Mugabe's evils deeds. How does he sleep at night? " We have asked time and again.
The answer is simple. After many decades in power, Robert Gabriel Mugabe has become unZimbabwean, today he is unAfrican. He resembles nothing of we are as a people. We read that the army we to beat up student at Midlands State University (MSU). Maiming innocent students (even guilty ones should not be maimed) is a heinous act. University students are the future. Children are the guarantors of a sustainable economic and social. development of any country."
He said countries with human Presidents invest in its children and clearly, they don't have one.
"They do not send the army into student hostels to wantonly beat them up. The army needs the students to qualitatively develop. The economy needs students. Students are the vitality of a nation that seeks to develop economically and socially. Only an idiot of a President sanctions military missions to beat up innocent students on peaceful Sunday," he said.
"What happened today at Midlands State University today can only be sanctioned by a beast. It is obvious that overstaying in power creates heartless beasts. 2018 gives us a chance to deal with this beast once and for all. To the Students who are in pain nursing wounds needlessly caused by Mugabe's blood thirsty animals, we wish you a speedy recovery and we extol you not to let your resolve to be good productive citizens be troubled."
