An MDC official Discent Collins Bajila has said there won't be any further reforms until 2018 elections.
He said the Laodicean spirit in our rank and file as the opposition in its various forms leaves the reform agenda squarely at the mercy of ZANU PF.
"Therefore anyone still ranking "reforms" as a potent tool by which we can unseat ZANU PF in 2018 is asking ZANU PF to introduce laws that will harm none but themselves. We are asking them to use their majority to commit political suicide. We choose to ignore the fact that the primary goal of ZANU PF is conquest of power and retention of power. By any means necessary, at every available opportunity ZANU PF will use the power they conquered in 2013 to create more power for themselves," he said.
"Our participation in the 2013 elections took ZANU PF off the radar of international interrogation. Very few parts of the world are now concerned about us compared to 30 July 2013 and years earlier. Our participation in 2018 should thus either remove ZANU PF or bring the plight of the people of Zimbabwe back to the top attention of the international community."
He said unfortunately the task of bringing 'our' case to top international attention will be more difficult than ever before.
"Right wing fundamentalism is growing so fast across the world. Ultra right nationalists are taking over from leftist internationalists. That's why we begin to hear of America First, Britain First and South Africa First. It's not a coincidence folks. A right wing world will create a situation no one cares about what's happening in other countries before they have solved their own problems. For example if the Democratic Alliance wins in South Africa in 2019, the likes of Herman Mashaba will be Ministers and there will be no South Africa to call a neighbour," he said..
"Our focus should therefore on making sure that every single vote against ZANU PF at Presidential, Parliamentary and Council levels goes to one pool. Finally folks, it is critical that we change tact desist from giving people false hope."
