President Robert Mugabe is reported heading abroad for checkups shortly. It is not clear at this stage whether this is fake or factual news. It is difficult to get President Mugabe's medical checkup schedule as it is considered a state secret.

This was revealed on tweeter by @ZimMediaReview after news emerged that Nigeria's President Muhammadu Buhari will travel to London on Sunday for follow-up medical tests after weeks of mounting concern about his health.

He has made regular trips to Singapore for medical check-ups, and his health is a frequent subject of speculation.

In 2011, WikiLeaks released a US diplomatic cable from 2008 saying that Mugabe was reported to have prostate cancer and had less than five years to live.

In 2016, the government had to deny that he had died abroad during his annual vacation. He normally go to Singapore in February for his annual check up. However, the veteran leader's critics say his overseas medical trips testify to the collapse of Zimbabwe's public health system since the economy started to fall apart in 2000.

Former adviser to Morgan Tsvangirai had earlier tweeted that, "After speaking highly of his country's development, it won't be long before President Mugabe heads to Singapore  for his medicals!"
