The youth wing of ZAPU will on Saturday 17 June 2017 meet in Bulawayo to strategize and plan for the general elections coming in 2018, under the theme #MasterPlan2018.
High on the agenda of the convergence is youth participation in leadership and elections, in line with President Dabengwa's call on the party to deploy its young people to leadership and national decision making bodies like parliament and local authorities.
To be discussed at tomorrows meeting is voter registration with special attention to unpacking the BVR system, youth vote mobilization and campaign as well as candidate selection with special emphasis on youth and youthful candidates.
Leading the proceedings will be the party's National Organizing Department under the guidance of National Co-Organizer John Z Dlamini and Deputy National Organizer Ndodana Moyo, whose special assignment in the party is coordination of national youth affairs.
The meeting will be attended by Youth Front district leadership, leaders from Zimbabwe's ten provinces and the interim National Executive Committee that was charged by the #August2016People'sCongress to prepare for the #August2017NationalYouthConference where substantive leadership will be elected.
All ten provinces have confirmed attendance to Saturday's meeting with final logistics being put in place for the meeting that will take place at the party's regional headquarters in Bulawayo.
