A Bulawayo man's sleep-around sexual antics were allegedly exposed by his wife who claimed every time he comes back home from his sexual escapades she noticed some stains on his underwear.
The suspicious Tanya Leigh Gomez claimed she knew her husband of 20 years Gregory Lee Ignatius Gomez was cheating on her because he has on many occasions come home late with "spoilt" underwear.
Tanya who was seeking a protection order against her husband also said the latter was in the habit of "planting" condoms in their bedroom as a way of blackmailing her.
"I am married to Gregory Lee Ignatius Gomez in terms of the marriages Act (Chapter 5:11). I married him on 13 December 1995 and the marriage still subsists. I am applying for a protection order following his repeated acts of assault, threats of violence and verbal abuse.
"His actions began barely a few days after the solemnisation of the marriage and have persisted sporadically. I am now living in fear and traumatised following the continued threats of violence. Respondent (Gregory) has also moved out of the matrimonial bedroom, to the spare bedroom where he has lived for the past two years. On various occasions he promised to deal with me," claimed Tanya.
She said she was now living in fear as her husband was also in the habit of stalking her whenever she goes out with friends.
"Respondent stalks me whenever I go out with friends. He uses people to monitor me and has on several occasions planted condoms as a way of blackmailing me. He comes home in a drunken stupor, breaking locks in order to gain entry into the house. He has many a time brought spoilt underwear, evidence of his adulterous relationships and extra marital affairs," complained Tanya.
She further said her husband was also economically abusing her while falsely accusing her of having boyfriends.
In his opposing affidavit, Gregory disputed his wife's accusations saying she was a pathological liar. He said his wife's application was malicious and bent on nailing him to the cross.
"The respondent disputes the allegations of abuse as outlined by the applicant more particularly in that it is the applicant who has on countless occasions picked fights with the respondent. The respondent has on many occasions tolerated the verbal and at times physical assaults from the applicant.
"It is true that I moved out of the matrimonial bedroom however, not as a result of choice, but was chased away from, rather evicted by the applicant's mad cow behaviour. The past two years have been living like a vagabond in my own home due to applicant's barbaric behaviour," complained Gregory.
He added: "Problems started two years ago when the applicant started hanging out with her alcohol drug abusive friend from Botswana and every time I tried to reason with her about her friends she would swear at me.
"Allegations of planting condoms as a means of blackmailing her are ridiculous. Honestly, why would I want to blackmail my own wife of 20 years? The applicant is a pathological liar".
When asked by the presiding magistrate Sheunesu Matova if he had any problems if his wife was granted the protection order, Gregory said he didn't have, leading the magistrate to order him not to physically assault her or enter her bedroom without her consent.
