THERE was drama at the Bulawayo Tredgold courts when a woman went berserk and tried to assault her husband's girlfriend after she had dragged the man to court claiming maintenance.
Ntando Kwatambwa will regret the day she fell in love with Nkosilathi Ncube as his wife has vowed to make her life a living hell.
The unidentified woman was forced out of court after she tried to attack Kwatambwa before shouting obscenities towards her, leaving people in shock.
"I will beat you up loose woman. You knew that the man was married but slept with him and now you are dragging him to court," said the fuming wife.
Kwatambwa told the court that Ncube was failing to take care of their seven-year-old child.
"He has not been supporting the child and his wife made it impossible for us to reach an agreement about the child's well-being and this is why I have come to the courts," Kwatambwa said.
However, Ncube demanded full custody of the child saying the matter was straining his marriage.
In his response Ncube said: "I think it will be better if the courts grant me full custody of the child as my wife will not allow me to financially support the child so she must come and stay with us. I beg the courts to listen to my plea as my wife does not want anything to do with Kwatambwa."
The restless woman was seen peeping through the courtroom door showing her clenched fist to Kwatambwa who looked shaken throughout the proceedings.
Kwatambwa pleaded with the courts to grant her a protection order against Ncube's wife.
"I am afraid to leave the court room as Ncube's wife wants to assault me. She even kicked me inside this very court," said the tearful Kwatambwa.
The presiding magistrate Tinashe Tashaya ordered Ncube to pay $75 as monthly maintenance for the child.
He turned down Kwatambwa's plea to be escorted.
"You are causing drama and chaos in this court. Sort out your issues far away from here, this is not a playground."
The drama continued after the court proceedings as Ncube's wife blocked Kwatambwa's way claiming they had unfinished business.
"I am coming after you, the courts will not even protect you from what I will do to you. You will not get away with this," declared Ncube's wife.
Ncube's efforts to calm down his wife were in vain as the woman seemed very aggressive.
"So you are protecting that loose woman, I will beat you as well. It seems you think I am joking when I say I do not want that woman near you. I will beat up both of you," said Ncube's wife.
"Calm down, do you want to be arrested? What behaviour are you showing our child? I will gain custody of the child and will never see this woman again," Ncube was heard saying as he tried to restrain his wife.
These words did not deter the woman who seemed to be baying for Kwatambwa's blood.
Kwatambwa managed to escape leaving the couple to sort out their issues.
