'He walks around undressed'

A HARARE woman opened up in court that her husband walks around the house undressed in the presence of their children each time he comes home drunk.
The couple has children aged 22 and 19.
Clara Mutsimba also alleged that Augustin Mutsimba physically abuses her, hence her application for a protection order.
"This man comes home every day drunk and insults me and the children, sometimes he even beats us up.
"The other time he even beat up the children for trying to rebuke him about his behaviour," said Clara.
Clara added that Augustin does not respect their children's presence in the house, as he walks round undressed without even an underwear.
"He even walks around undressed in the house without even an underwear in the presence of our children."
However, Augustin denied ever assaulting his children indicating that he was only disciplining them.
"I do not agree with the terms because as a father I have the right to discipline my children when they are dispectful.
"I beat them up because they were accusing me of making noise in my own house.
"As for my wife, for the past 33 years we have been married, never for once have I ever assaulted or insulted her.
"We have lived in peace and I am surprised that only today she has brought small issues before you.
"Maybe she is just angry that most of the times I come home drunk and refuse to eat the food she would have prepared."
Presiding magistrate Sharon Tatenda Chipanga said she wanted to see the couple in private to discuss about their matrimonial home.
