Zanu-PF looks to Mnangagwa for direction

Zanu-PF Mashonaland East province says there won't be much party activity until after the congress and getting direction from the President and First Secretary of the party Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Mashonaland East Zanu-PF provincial chairperson Joel Biggie Matiza, who was chairing his first provincial executive council meeting after bouncing back following the lifting of his suspension by the central committee, received reports on the state of the party from the districts.
He told the provincial leadership that there won't be much activity for now until after the congress where Mnangagwa is expected to give the direction the party is to take.
Matiza also urged the party leadership to ensure that they mobilise members to go and register to vote under the BVR programme which is currently underway.
Former chairman Bernard Makokove who had replaced Matiza and former women's league chairperson Mary Jonasi who has been replaced by Apolonia Munzverengwi also attended the meeting in a show of unity in the province.
Meanwhile, in Mashonaland Central, a special provincial coordinating committee has thrown its weight behind the decisions made by the central committee pledging their support to the First Secretary and President Emmerson Mnangagwa ahead of the extraordinary congress.
The revolutionary provincial party's Mashonaland Central provincial coordinating committee has endorsed resolutions made by the central committee.
Zanu-PF provincial vice chairman Kazembe Kazembe said the province will go to the extraordinary congress to endorse Mnangagwa as their First Secretary and President of the revolutionary party.
Zanu-PF Politburo member Chen Chimutengwende said the party will emerge stronger than ever before after the congress.
Mashonaland Central provincial affairs Minister Advocate Martin Dinha said the province is hundred percent behind resolutions made at the central committee which will bring stability within the ruling party.
The meeting follows the resolution passed by the central committee that Mnangagwa will lead the party and will be endorsed at the forthcoming congress set for Harare in the next three weeks.
