The Norton independent legislator Temba Mliswa pulled a shocker when he urged people to register to vote saying two vote riggers former president Robert Mugabe and Justice Rita Makarau were gone hence people should register to vote.

Mliswa took his suggestion to micro blogging social network Twitter where he got into serious trouble with people who subsequently insulted him over his tweet.

"Now that two riggers, Makarau and Mugabe, are gone, there are no more reasons not to register to vote," he tweeted.

A commenter identified as Brian called on Mliswa to be mature.

"Hon one thing you are to develop is maturity."

Political Junky tweeted, "You are funny!Who is going to believe rigging takes only two people, especially considering rigging was taking place long before Rita Makarau was at ZEC.

This was systematic &involving many people who are in this new administration.

We need independent monitors to run election."

Another commenter labeled Mliswa as a liar and bootlicker to president Emmerson Mnangagwa.

"What are you smoking over there, the junta which took charge after Zanu 2008 defeat is still firmly in charge.

"Try other avenues of lies in your bootlicking," tweeted Tinashe Fundirwa.

"You must be singing for your own supper..... selling the ED brand.

"Propagare .another jontso in the making kkkkkk," tweeted Raymond gonzo.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) chairperson Justice Rita Makarau a close allay to Mugabe tendered her resignation on Friday and her deputy Emmanuel Magabe will be the acting chair before a substantive chair is appointed.

Makarau is also Judicial Service Commission secretary (JSC).
