The Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) Alliance president, Nelson Chamisa has promised free primary education and the change of the new curriculum if he wins the 2018 harmonised election.
Addressing thousands of MDC supporters in Nzvimbo growth point, Mashonaland Central star rally, Chamisa castigated the commercialisation of primary education.
"We do not condone the commercialisation of primary education, our government which is going to be ruling in September is going to change that system, every primary child should just go to school freely," said Chamisa amid thunderous cheering from his supporters.
He said parents should just pay for Secondary education and at Tertiary his government is going to issue grants.
"My government is serious about education, parents you should pay for secondary level because we would have prepared you from primary.
As for tertiary we will issue grants, we need foreigners to come and learn here not the other way round."
Chamisa castigated former education Lazarous Dokora for fostering the new curriculum calling him a barbaric man.
"This government is going to remove the so called new curriculum that was implemented by the barbaric Dokora!" he shouted.
