Manager goes AWOL with 'company money'

Zimbabwe Leaf Tobacco (ZLT) Company Guruve aerial manager reportedly tendered his resignation recently after failing to account for the company's money.
Allegations are that Andreas Mutumbwa failed to give farmers their working capital amounting to $1800 and chose to go to South Africa to see his sister at the expense of the farmers.
The company is believed have reported him missing while in possession of company money. It is alleged that they then got hold of his wife who is a teacher in Guruve.
Mutumbwa confirmed the incident and said he resigned to maintain good relations with the company.
"Indeed l resigned after l failed to give farmers their labour monies, but the situation was beyond my control since l had an emergency family meeting with my sister in South Africa," he said.
Meanwhile, rumour had it that the former manager had varnished with $8000 company money which he vehemently denied.
"I know people were spreading rumours that l stole 8-10K honesty if was the case would l be freeman like l am now, that is just bar talk said Mutumbwa."
