Suspected MDC-T supporters reportedly caused mayhem at Bindura magistrate court after their candidate for Mazowe North Tulani Ndlovu was dropped for MDC Alliance candidate Tinashe Muchenje yesterday.
MDC-T provincial chairperson George Gwarada confirmed the incident though not aligning the hooligans to Ndlovu.
"We had a minor challenge yesterday with our supporters who came drunk at the nomination court you know how it is when dealing with a drunk person, though l am not sure if the people are aligned to Ndlovu," revealed Gwarada.
The disgruntled supporters are alleged to have threatened the alliance candidate who is little known in his constituency to withdraw and give room to the prominent Ndlovu popularly known as Fire President.
Contacted for comment Ndlovu refuted the allegations saying he never hired any thugs and never heard any issues of violence.
"I did not take any thugs with me and l have never heard about issues of violence maybe there were some from people who had their differenced," refuted Ndlovu
However, the provincial leadership said they still have seven days to decide on who will represent the constituency in the forthcoming elections.
"I am yet to see the final nomination list once l see it l will come back to you , I think our addmistrator Miss Mawire is by the magistrate to collect it and we have seven days to normalize that if they are any anormalies, said Gwarada.
MDC have managed to field all parliamentary constituencies in Mashonaland Central province save for some ward councillors who have failed to provide sufficient documents required by ZEC.
