674 people graduated at Masvingo Polytechnic College, amid calls from the government for the graduates to embrace lifelong skills that will make them employers rather than employees.
It was a day to remember for the graduates who received certificates and diplomas in various areas such as arts and design, environmental health, cosmetology and applied sciences, among others.
The graduates said they are ready to conquer the new challenges ahead.
Masvingo Polytechnic College Principal, Mr Evans Musara called upon the graduates to go and excel in their areas of study and carry their college flag high.
"I urge you to go out and practice what you were taught and this is only the beginning of learning, you have to advance yourselves," he said.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Science and Technology Development, Dr Desire Sibanda challenged the graduates to be innovative and think about employing others rather than being employed.
"The reason why we encourage our students to stermatise is for us to produce a new crop of people who are able to solve many challenges, people who will not sit and wait to be employed," he said.
The event was graced by principals from various institutions, relatives and friends of the graduates.
