The Civic Society and Churches Joint Forum has challenged citizens to unit and monitor how the government uses the 2% tax which it has imposed on every electronic transaction they make.

Finance Minister Mthuli Ncube recently announced and effected the 2% transaction in every dollar that citizens transect through electronic means.

Zimbabwe Liberators Coordinator Max Mkandla whose organisation is a stake holder of CSCJF said while they agree that the 2% tax planned and implemented without the input of stakeholders is in place, they were expecting  that the process go through parliament and then to all provinces.

He said they expected that the citizens would be given chance to contribute and have an input in the idea before it is implemented.

"But it was done without consulting owners  of that money who are not part of the division  making. That hard earned  money is now being deducted from their money and it is wrong and such creates disorder and confusion. It is ow not  easy to reverse it. Its now time to unite to make follow up  how this money is used," Mkandla said.

"WE need monthly reports or updates  on how the money is used and at how much have been received or gathered as a nation since it is not a donation but a must part with money through transactions."

Mkandla said people must unite to monitor the use of the money and see who are the beneficiaries. HE said if the nation benefits from the money it will be good but if not he citizens must see who have abused the money.

"It high time we sing from one temp-let  and we dismiss the calls for transitional authority as misplaced," he said. "They must stop calling for that but push for devolution. I agree with Abigail Mupambi for declaring that bot MDC Alliance and  Zanu PF are in power and share responsibility for either the downfall or progress of the nation."

Mupambi recently said the MDC Alliance must stop returning people to the election period as that period started when the election was proclaimed and ended when the last person elected was sworn into office.

Mkandla said as an organisation they are saying no to transitional authority as the nation has since gone through elections and the government has since been installed.

He said MDC Alliance is in power as it controls most of the urban areas which are the government's major tax collection bases and influences development in the country and they must stop acting as if they are4r out of power.
