The Kgalema Motlanthe led Commission of Inquiry has come under fire for not inviting President Emmerson Mnangagwa and Vice President Constantino Chiwenga to give evidence before them.
The outcry comes after the commission announced on Tuesday that it had closed the interview stage and was now collating and analysing data with a view of tabling the report before the President.
MDC representative African Union (AU) Mathula Lusinga said "I find it ridiculous that the Commission decides to close without inviting the President (who denied issuing an order for the army to be in the streets), his deputy Chiwenga (whom evidence points as to he gave the order). So the whole thing is just a charade. A complete waste of taxpayers money from a president who claims to be accountable."
Mathula invited all Zimbabweans to join the MDC on the November 29 planned demonstration and work towards removing this government of Emmerson Mnangagwa.
Former advisor to the late Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirayi, Alex T. Magaisa said, "In the interests of fairness, the Commission of Inquiry should extend an invitation to Mnangagwa and his Vice President and former defence minister, Rtd General Chiwenga to give their side of the story. Having been named, surely they deserve a chance to be heard, as was the case with Chamisa and Biti."
The Kgalema Motlanthe Commission is supposed to produce a report within 3 months of its inception and table it before the President.
The bloody post election violence left 6 civilians dead after an altercation between protestors and the military.
