SB Moyo's family speaks out

The family of Ministry of Foreign Affairs Sibusiso Moyo has rejected media reports that the coup announcer is battling for life and unable to speak.

In a statement yesterday, Minister Moyo's wife and High Court judge, Justice Loice Matanda-Moyo, said, "The family spokesperson Justice Moyo said, Dr. SB Moyo is recuperating at home and recently attended a reunion event of St Augustines High School students , a school where his wife is an alumni.

"It is our humble submission as a family that media organisations and individual journalists must always observe their ethical obligations and not only verify but be sensitive to the privacy of their subjects especially on personal matters such as health.

"Such false reports have the effect of causing unnecessary pain and anxiety as well as despondency among loved ones.
 
"We wish to reiterate that Dr SB Moyo is not in any danger and looks forward to resuming his official duties soon."

Moyo who has been nicknamed General Bae is popular for announcing the military intervention that ended Robert Mugabe's 37 years of repressive rule.
