MDC Vice President Professor Welshman Ncube has described Finance Minister Mthuli as a political moron due to his statements which he uttered in various interviews at the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.
"Watching Mthuli interview with Richard Quest was so so sad. Just how someone so academically intelligent can become such a political moron is mind boggling." Professor Ncube said.
When someone commented that Mthuli is at the same them with Deputy Information Minister Energy Mutodi Ncube replied, "Maybe worse for we expect nothing from Mutodi."
South Africa based business tycoon Mutumwa Mawere bemoaned that Mthuli has been reduced to President Mnangagwa's praise and worship singer.
"This should not be surprising if the country's minds have been reduced to praise singers and subordinate actors who sing for their supper." Mawere said. "Can you imagine, only one man stands out in the ecosystem as the benevolent, clairvoyant and magnanimous superstar."
Mthuli Ncube has come under fire for accusing opposition members of pre-planning the violent protests that rocked Zimbabwe on Monday and for defending the shutdown of internet calling it a tactical temporary strategy to stop the protests.
Hundreds of Zimbabweans sustained gunshot wounds with several reported dead after the government shut down internet and soldiers moved into residential areas to unleash an orgy violence.
