Apostolic Faith Mission of Zimbabwe church (AFM) Mvurwi province which comprises of places like Mvurwi, Kanyemba, Muzarabani, Centenary and Chiweshe has joined other provinces nationwide in factional battles over the church's constitution.

Mvurwi province has been silent about splits and the province's overseer Bigten Chizinga told Newsday that the splits have since rocked the province with places like Nzvimbo, Mahuhwe and Centenary topping the list.

"We are now witnessing splits in our province it is quit unfortunate that some parts in our province have also joined the nationwide splits that's are rocking our church, we had soldiered on as a church with people following the old constitution but to date some have decided to part ways," Chizinga said.

A church insider at Nzvimbo said they take turns to conduct services under one roof while the other at Mahuhwe said they share classrooms for their services.

"In Chiweshe, Nzvimbo we use the same church but we give each other time since we can no longer fellowship together, we failed to agree so we wait for the courts to determine," said the source.

"In Mahuhwe we do not have our own structure but instead we use classrooms hence we just share the rooms to conduct services."

Meanwhile, as a temporary measure, AFM International ordered that the factions must not bar each other from using church facilities.

Over the years some of the churches that have come out of AFM include Life House International led by Bishop Tavonga Vutabwashe, United Family Church International led by Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa, international DSD led by Pastor Oliver Chipunza and the recent Rooted in Christ Ministries by Pastor Charles Charamba and wife Olivia.
