A new book called Two Weeks in November by Douglas Rodgers has revealed that former First Lady Grace Mugabe fell into a well laid up plan by some members of the Central Intelligence Organisation which saw her assaulting a South African model Gabriella Engels at a Sandton apartment.

The book says Grace who had become untouchable and powerful in Zimbabwe had travelled to South Africa to check on her children who had become a disgrace in the neighbouring country due to their lifestyle.

While Grace was still put up somewhere before she could go and see the boys at their apartment, Gabriella Engels entered the room.

The book further reveals that Mnangagwa's coup-conspirators who were outside the apartment gave each other a signal and set, "It is time!"

It is reported that the Intelligence persons immediately transmitted a message to Grace to go to the apartment. When Grace arrived at the apartment she found Engels and all hell broke loose.

The book further says the coup-conspirators celebrated that they had managed to tame Grace who was now wanted by the South African police before she was granted immunity by the government.

In October last year, Engels who was assaulted by an electric cable revealed that one of Mugabe's sons was pressuring her to drop charges against Grace.

Civil rights group AfriForum which represents Engels in the high-profile case said,"We've had a complaint, we were contacted by Gabriella Engels informing us that one of Mrs Mugabe's sons in South Africa contacted her, and tried to convince her not to go ahead with the case.

"We have informed the police that they should look at this because it is interference with the judicial process and we believe that is very unfortunate,"
