ZANU PF Youth League National Commissar Godfrey Tsenengamu has called upon elderly ZANU PF officials to resign and pave way for the young leadership to take over the reigns.
Tsenengamu was speaking after President Emmerson Mnangagwa fired warning shots to ZANU PF Youth League officials telling them to be ready to step down.
"I am 36 and ready to move on from youth into the main wing. After 6 days of work creating earth, our God took time to rest. Even some of our madalas must rest and pave way for the young," Tsenengamu said. "Makarwa kurwa wakanaka chizororaiwo tiwanewo pekupinda. Open Up the Space. It's time to blend youth with experience."
Addressing the National Youth Assembly on 11 April Mnangagwa warned the Party's Youth League leadership to be ready to move on saying that the only person who is safe is Pupurai Togarepi. Mnangagwa said the rest should be ready to move on and that the eight Provinces that have not been dissolved yet should never think that they are immune and that restructuring and reconstitution of executive committees in coming.
The firebrand Tsenengamu recently said the decision by the Mnangagwa government to compensate white commercial farmers was misplaced.
Tsenengamu said that money should be converted to assist in the rebuilding of the economy.
