WATCH: Mnangagwa declares ZanuPF superior to Zimbabweans

President Mnangagwa in a 30 second rant that has gone viral and has been widely interpreted to mean only his ZanuPF party is Independent while the rest of Zimbabweans are not, has sparked outrage among netizens.
The video appears not to be recent but that has not stopped a barrage of emotion and disdain for the Zimbabwean leader by his fellow countrymen.
"We must be respected. We are the majority, we are the people, we are the Government, we are the army, we are the air force, we are the police we are everything you can think of, we determine who can do mining in Zimbabwe, we determine who can construct a railway line in Zimbabwe, we determine who can build a road in Zimbabwe, no other party can do so," thunders Mnangagwa to wild applause.
More than 300 responses were recorded to the viral tweet by Advocate Fadzayi Mahere within the first hour and it is still trending.

"It explains why we are where we are. Zanu-pf has no capacity to extricate us out of the current economic mess. With leaders who hold these corrupt beliefs we're doomed. This is the mindset that puts aside merit and rewards connections with critical gvt posts and projects. 😡😡," wrote @upenyu18.

Mnangagwa who won a disputed presidency against his closest rival, the MDC Alliance's Nelson Chamisa, in last year's July harmonised elections had raised Zimbabweans' hope for a better life.
A majority believed he was ready to fight corruption, cronyism and nepotism that chatcterised his predecessor, Robert Mugabe's rule.
Mugabe led one of the most prosperous countries in Africa into an unprecedented economic decline that left his close allies stupendously rich while most of Zimbabweans wallowed in poverty.
Mnangagwa, Zimbabweans are now saying, is worse than Mugabe.
"He seems to have lost the will to fulfill his electoral promises and the country has backslidden into more economic decline.
The president and his top brass hire luxury planes to take them to hospitals in Singapore at exorbitant rates of up to US$ 500 000 per trip when the country is failing to raise only US$ 53 000 to repair cancer machines that should service more than two million people in the country.
"If these leaders care about the people, they should fix the country's hospitals so that they don't have to waste scarce foreign currency to be treated for even minor ailments like headaches in foreign lands," observed Elliot Nyathi from Bulawayo.
