Mthwakazi National Party has condemned the imposition of public officials who do not have the people of Matabeleland at by the two dominant parties ZANU PF and MDC.
In a statement of Tuesday MNP said, "We vehemently condemn the unconstitutional attempts by the neocolonial administration of MDC-A and ZANU-PF alike, to ruin the social fabric of Mthwakazi. We condemn the imposition of incompetent political representatives and the disregard by MDC-A of the rights of the people of Mthwakazi to defend their culture, language and heritage."
MNP further said the failure of MDC to deal with the grievances of the people of the region was a sign that they did not have the people at heart.
"The incapacity by the MDC-A to attend to the unique grievances of the people of Mthwakazi is evident of the party's compliance in the marginalisation of Mthwakazi. We condemn the incompetence on the part of the ZANU-PF central government and the MDC-A local council in the management of the welfare of the residents, characterized by corruption and the results of which manifest in erratic power and water supplies and irregular refuse collection, amongst the many challenges faced by our people."
The party called upon the people of the region to reject all candidates that came from other provinces.
"We hereby challenge the concerned nationalists of Mthwakazi to register to vote and call upon the electorate of Bulawayo in particular and Mthwakazi, in general, to choose their representatives wisely, choosing specifically local residents who have the interests of their communities at heart.
"We further call upon our people to actively participate in the political life of Mthwakazi, for only through the expressed will of the people will Mthwakazi be a step closer to independence.
Mthwakazi National Party further affirms that an independent and sovereign state of Mthwakazi is the perfect social order to guarantee the welfare, peace and prosperity of the people of Mthwakazi."
