WATCH: Musanhi champions water crisis resolution

Residents of Bindura, yesterday received tap water for the first time after spending more than a year without the precious liquid.
Bindura North Legislator Kenneth Musanhi who has been pushing for the tap water with Freda Rebecca mine where he was once a board member and shareholder, also pushed Bindura council before receiving praises after both the council and the mine succeeded in giving water to residents by fixing new pipes.
Residents who spoke to Bulawayo24.com expressed great joy as their taps were now a source of shelter for rats.
"When the water started pouring out a rat came out of the tap and we would really like to thank VaMusanhi for his tireless efforts to deliver water to us," said Chipo Makoni from Chipadze.
The commercial sector is now hopeful for a surge in their operations since the stumbling block has been broken.
"VaMusanhi erected this water tank and with the water close by it is now easier to wash people's cars unlike fetching the water many meters away," Tinashe Motsi said.
From Musanhi's office, Pennet Ncube dovetailed with the residents that water was really a challenge, but they were working tirelessly in silence to facilitate the process.
"We knew that water was a challenge and we took it upon ourselves to make sure that Freda Rebecca in conjunction with Bindura Municipality puts a new pipeline, which has finally come through," he said
When Bulawayo24.com visited the water construction site Bindura council Engineer Kurai Baureni who was busy working there said they were working on making sure the pipeline is up to standard.
"We have installed new pipes which have bigger capacity than the old ones and by mid-March the water delivery will be flowing smoothly," he noted.
Musanhi also facilitated the installation of water tanks across the constituency and put a smile on his electorate's faces once again.
