Police in Centenary arrested a 20-year-old woman who attempted to kill her ex-boyfriend with an axe over the weekend.
Sandra Makosa of Archiford farm, Centenary is assisting police with investigations after she allegedly struck Sam Chakale (35) her ex-boyfriend with an axe on the head.
Mashonaland Central deputy police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Naison Dhliwayo confirmed the case.
"We arrested Makosa after she struck Chakale with an axe after a misunderstanding and investigations are in progress," Dhliwayo said.
Allegations are that Chakale went to Makosa's house drunk and started throwing stones at her door.
Makosa bolted out and ordered the drunkard to leave her house, but he continued throwing stones.
In a fit of rage she struck Chakale with a brick on the head and he went on to pick an axe.
Wielding the axe Chakale charged at Makosa and missed the target before Makosa dragged the axe from him and struck him twice on the head leaving him lying in a pool of blood.
Chakale was rushed to the hospital for treatment and Makosa was arrested.
Police warned people to desist from violence.
"We are discouraging people to desist from barbaric actions of assaulting each other instead animals are well known for fighting but human beings should go for dialogue," Dhliwayo said.
