Teenager raped at knife point in the bush

A SEVENTEEN year old girl was allegedly raped by a 21 old while on her way to school on Friday at Ndolwane in Plumtree, Matabeleland South.
The victim (name withheld) was allegedly raped by Inamandla Thebe of Thebe's homestead under Headman Ndolwane.
According to police sources close to the case, the accused met the girl while on her way to school and force marched her to a nearby bush where he raped her once.
"On the 03rd day of June 2021 at around 0730 hours the accused person left his place of residence going to Thekwane river intending to check for his logs for fencing which he left a week ago. As he was in the forest along Ndolwane-Tsukuru road, he met the complainant who was alone going to Siyapambili Secondary School. Accused person the withdrew a black kitchen knife. He then asked the complainant her name and where she came from and the complainant replied him. Accused person then instructed the complainant to move infront of him towards the bush. Whilst in the bushy area, the accused person whilst holding a kitchen knife instructed the complainant to remove her green skirt, black skin tight and green pant of which she complied. Accused person went on to remove his pair of blue jean trousers to knee level, withdrew his erect manhood and raped her once with the complainant without her conscent" read part of the police memo seen by this publication.
The accused is in police custody waiting for trial.
Efforts to get a comment from Matabeleland South Police spokesperson were fruitless as his phone was not reachable.
