Man rapes 5-year-old girl, infects her with STI

AN 18-year-old Zaka man facing charges of raping a five-year old girl brought proceedings at Masvingo Magistrate's Court to a halt when he claimed that he had lost his manhood to a Sexually Transmitted Infection.
Appearing before Ms Dorothy Mwanyisa on Tuesday last week, Kudakwashe Mudzvovi of 640 New Houses, Jerera, Zaka, Masvingo, was not asked to plead.
He was remanded out of custody to 19 October.
After the reading of the State case Mudzvovi raised his hand and denied the charge saying there was no way he could have committed a sexual crime when he had lost his manhood to a serious Sexually Transmitted Infection (STI).
"My worship there is no way I could have raped the complainant when my manhood is destroyed. I am no longer a man, as I am standing here and I can show you," said Mudzvovi in a horse voice.
According to State papers on the 17 September a neighbour, Ms Vimbai Zaga, noticed that the girl was walking with difficulties.The woman is said to have asked what had happened and she girl revealed that she had been sexually abused by Mudzvovi.
Ms Zaga then took the girl to her unnamed mother where she asked her if she was aware of what had happened to her daughter.
The girl was then examined by the two and found with a yellowish discharge from her womanhood that confirmed that she had been raped and infected with an STI.
The girl was taken to the hospital where the doctor examined her and revealed that she had been raped and infected with an STI after which she was treated.
The mother then reported the matter to the police leading to Mudzvovi's arrest.
