Zimbabwean journalist Hopewell Chin'ono says President Emmerson Mnangagwa's spokesman George Charamba is 'lying' that he sold out opposition activists to vice-president Constantino Chiwenga after the 2018 general elections when violence erupted amid killings and abductions.
Chin'ono also rejected Charamba's claims that he previously managed him and foreign reporters to prevent them from asking the late former president Robert Mugabe direct questions.
Chin'ono released a video to prove that himself and his colleagues were not being held by leash and led by the nose as Charamba insinuated in a Twitter thread, claiming he managed journalists.
Charamba also claimed Chin'ono wanted to work with government and sold out activists.
Chin'ono has dismissed Charamba's claims.
