THE Zimbabwe Passengers Association Secretary general Paul Makiwa has challenged the government to enact the Accident Fund law to safeguard passengers in case of accidents.

"For the past centuries, scores, decades and for many past years we had many passenger genocides thus from road, rail, ship and plane.Whereas many of these victims were not compensated," he said.

"On this cause we would like to appeal to the state to pass THE ACCIDENT FUND BILL which will benefit the plane crash, rail derailment, shipwreck and road carnage victims."

He said in Zimbabwe they  already have these victims  and they  will have more victims to come.

"On another sad note others were maimed and left with permanent disabilities. If this BILL sails through the victims will benefit from it. Due to public outcry who were involved in, either these road, ship, rail and plane thus why we put it across you the state inorder to save your people," he said.

"We hope and trust that you will consider this request."
