A Bulawayo woman, Sithabile Maseko (49) from Magwegwe West suburb was left battling for life in the street next to Regional Coaches bus rank after she was dragged out of the bus by two men who were in an agreement with the bus driver.

The incident happened on Thursday around 4pm when the bus was about to leave for South Africa.

It is said that the woman asked to get some fresh air as she wasn't feeling well and other passengers asked her what her problem was.

She told them she had kidney failure and was going to South Africa for treatment.

The moment they observed her failing to breathe, the bus driver ordered two men to remove her from the bus. They dropped her handbag and a plastic bag with her national ID, bus ticket and medical record leaving her suitcase in the boot and the bus immediately left.

Angry witnesses went to the bus company office to inform the company supervisors about the incident and were furious over the treatment of the woman by the bus crew. They got no joy from the supervisors.

One of the witnesses called an ambulance which came and took the woman to the United Bulawayo Hospitals. The good Samaritan, who now had the woman's daughter's contact numbers in South Africa, advised her about the incident and that part of her mother's luggage was in the bus travelling to South Africa.
