Police destroy 23 shacks used by border jumpers

POLICE and other security forces in Beitbridge dented the operations of a syndicate that facilitates border jumping when they destroyed shacks that are used as halfway houses for people who illegal cross border.
The shacks were also being used by smugglers.
"On 26/12/21, The ZRP and other security forces on operation ‘No to Cross Border Crimes' demolished 23 shacks along the Limpopo River in Ckikwalakwala.
"The shacks were harbouring people suspected to be aiding illegal border crossing and smuggling activities in Beitbridge," said the police on twitter.
Meanwhile, on Christmas Day, police in Bubi arrested a man for smuggling groceries into Zimbabwe.
"On 25/12/21, Police in Bubi arrested Admire Zayira for smuggling. The suspect was intercepted at a traffic checkpoint in Bubi while driving a rigid truck (ABQ 5770) towing a trailer (AFJ 8106) laden with an assortment of undeclared groceries.
