Criminals break in at Andrea The Vocalist's home
04 Jan 2022 at 05:18hrs | Views
Victoria Falls based budding star Andrea Sibanda (also known as Andrea The Vocalist) had his parents' home invaded by unkown criminals on Saturday, his management has alleged.
Andrea rise to become an internet sensation after his rendition Loluhambo made went viral on a video-sharing social networking service Tiktok in South Africa leading to him recording a different version of the song with South African artist Audrey Qwebe.
In a statement the management said:
It is with much sadness to announce that there was an attempted home invasion and robbery by "opportunistic criminals" at 12-year-old Tik Tok star, Andrea Sibanda's family home in Mkhosana Township in Victoria Falls on the 1st of January 2022, around 10 PM.
Although the criminals ran away empty-handed, after Andrea's mother shouted for help from neighbors, the incident has left the family shaken. No one was hurt in the incident.
"It is disheartening that anyone would target a 12-year-old and his family in that fashion. Andrea comes from a very disadvantaged background and if anything, we would encourage well-wishers to contribute towards his school and upkeep. As for the opportunists, we are disappointed"- Tendai Joe.
A report was made with Victoria Falls Police Station on 3 January 2022 and the case number is yet to be issued. We would like to thank ZRP Victoria Falls Community Relations Officer, Sergeant Reason Ncube for assisting with this case.
