AS CCC's G40-sponsored agenda to rid the party of its old guard gathers momentum, that party's leader Nelson Chamisa has reportedly unleashed his free range allies led by Human Rights Lawyer Pedzisayi Ruhanya to apportion blame on the party's poor performance in the just ended by-elections in its stronghold urban centers to all those individuals with more than 20 years in Parliament.

CCC legislators who have spent more than 20 years in august house include the party's Vice President, Tendai Biti and Harare Central legislator designate, Murisi Zwizwai amongst others.

Ruhanya, has come out guns glazing saying all MPs with more than 20 years were spent forces who ought to be retired.

In a rare admission, Ruhanya also described CCC as a coalition of "stupid friendship alliances."

He conceded that the opposition party won in Harare due to goodwill of the electorate and was facing annihilation at the hands of ZANU PF in the 2023 harmonised elections.

"Mukoma Dhagi ndapedza nemi. Hamuna dhiri. Between today and 2023, I will focus on bad apples with an entitlement mentality in CCC, but very bad performers. I am coming for you. There are no sacred cows on this wall.

"The opposition should investigate, interrogate why the urban vote for MPs, councilors is in sharp decline; one reason is the quality of representatives continue to nosedive. People with more than twenty in Parliament are now spent-forces. There was no campaign in Harare Central.

"CCC won Harare Central by-election through goodwill. There was no campaign (only) dotted posters. Musanyeperana. Munonyudzwa neZANU PF if you are not careful. Tell each other the truth and stop stupid friendship alliances. You can't win power with this lackadaisical approach.

"There are people in CCC who won in some urban areas without effort. These elements are dangerous moving forward. They take the voter for granted and their constituencies are in sharp decline. That entitlement mentality is old school, it must die. We need new faces in those areas."

Meanwhile, Bulawayo legislator Nicola Watson unwittingly gave out her faction's loathing for the Binga North legislator designate, Prince Dubeko Sibanda while responding to a comment by Ruhanya acknowledging the "good" performance by that party's Matabeleland North provincial structures.

"Matabeleland North Chair did ok in his constituency but the Province did not do well in other by-elections," said Watson who was part of the former MDC Green led by Professor Welshman Ncube.
