Civil society Organisations (CSOs) have suggested that the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP), Zimbabwe Human Rights Commission (ZHRC) and the Parliament of Zimbabwe should play a role in the democratic election processes system.
The CSOs that made the suggestions are the Community Compassion Care Trust (CCC), Women Coalition for Change ( Wocoz), Women organisation Empowerment Trust and many more.
"The ZRP must not be politically affiliated with any political party, Instead they should abide by policies governing their conduct," Nqobizitha Zitha said.
"Officials deployed in a particular community must not be able to understand the language of that community so as to promote effective communication."
ZHRC is urged to be more visible in order to sensitise political parties of their responsibility.
"The Organization should have offices all over the province for easy access and visibility," it said.
"The commission should expose all human rights violations as well as reaching people at the grassroots level to educate them about their rights."
Ntombizodwa Ncube said the Cluster lead on Political and Decision making for Bulawayo Chapter the Parliament should introduce legislation that would enable women to participate in elections.
"We need more women in the parliament . There should be a gender balance of 50/50 rule. The parliament should be the final board to approve laws before the president so as to make sure the system is not compromised," said Ncube.
