The newly structured, War Veterans league, has suffered a stillbirth due to fears of massive vote rigging and vote buying among the War veterans, this publication has learnt.

Claims of manipulation of the voter's register have surfaced with unillegible voters allegedly appearing on the register. Sources allege that Mashonaland Central Province ZANU PF chairman Kazembe Kazembe is accused of being at the centre of the chaos.

On Wednesday, sources said ZANU PF Provincial executive committee summoned the now dissolved Provincial war veteran's league interim executive to meet in Bindura and map up a strategy to block war veterans chairman Sam Parerenyatwa from contesting.

Sam Parerenyatwa, has since held successful rallies and is leading the race to become the new Provincial League Chair.

However, a faction aligned to Kazembe Kazembe is fighting to block his candidature in favour of Richard Chirongwe.

ZANU PF has since created a War Veterans League as part of its Organ but the league has been failing to hold its inaugural elective congress to elect a substantive leadership.

Most provinces have failed to hold the elections to elect the DCC executive while Douglas Mahiya is also accused of having handpicked some of the committees which have created an uneven playfield.

This has led to calls for verification of the registers and commissariat has since postponed the elections.
