ZANU PF Mazowe District Co-ordinating Committee (DCC) has embarked on President Emmerson Mnangagwa's campaign.
DCC chairperson Tafadzwa Musarara is spearheading the campaign and they have started with Chiweshe.
Speaking at a cell rally in Bare, Chiweshe on Friday Musarara said the DCC is only campaigning for President Mnangagwa and other candidates should wait for primary elections to avoid tearing the party apart.
"As DCC we are only campaigning for President Emmerson Mnangagwa who is the sole ZANU PF candidate for the forthcoming elections," Musarara told the gathering.
"We have noted that some aspiring candidates be it councillors or Members of Parliament are already in election mode and are vote buying and by so doing they are leaving party supporters divided that should stop."
Musarara further encouraged people to register to vote and check if they are registered voters through the mobile platform.
"We are urging you to register to vote and you should also check whether you are in the voters roll by simply dialing *265# and follow instructions we want to have five million votes and beat the opposition with a big margin so that they do not go to court again like what they did previously," he said.
The DCC chairperson also castigated unfair distribution of inputs by village heads.
"I am told that our supporters are not happy with some of our village heads who are unfairly distributing inputs, may that habit stop because we do not want to lose votes .Every one should benefit from pfumvudza because the President wants to feed everyone," said Musarara amid thunderous applause.
He subsequently donated transport to ferry inputs from Grain Marketing Board (GMB) after villagers heads cited transport challenges as a major drawback to the Pfumvudza program.
Mazowe Rural District Council chairman John Mudzonga thanked Musarara for the gesture and urged party members to supply labour for the inputs to be ferried from GMB.
"It is with great pleasure that we have received transport from Cde Musarara what is now required of us is to provide labour we need people who can load the fertilisers in the trucks so that it reaches beneficiaries. May we cooperate and foster development in our area," Mudzonga said.
Next weekend Musarara is taking the campaign trail to Mvurwi and surrounding areas.
