Car highjaker dies in an inferno

A 22-YEAR-OLD Mount Darwin suspected car highjaker died on Sunday after the alleged car that he stole at a bar caught fire.
According to Mashonaland Central deputy police spokesperson Naison Dhliwayo the suspect tried to flee while on fire and eventually was burnt to death.
"Tafadzwa Joshua Wenje died after he had an accident with a stolen Toyota Alex that he stole a bar after midnight on August 27," Dhliwayo said.
"Allegations are that the complainant Isah Sariva (35) parked his car at High class night club in Mt Darwin and left the car engine running while he got inside the bar to look for his friend Misheck "Shekede" Tembo.
"While he was inside Wenje stole the car and drove away, after a few kilometers the car caught fire and Wenje tried to flee while he was on fire.
He fell down a few metres from 3G fuel station and died on the spot.
Security guards managed to put down the fire as a way of avoiding explosion on the fuel station."
Police warned drivers to switch off their engines and lock their cars while parking.
