Highfield Ward 25 councillor Luckson Mukunguma (MDC T) is now eying Highfield House of Assembly seat.
Mukunguma said he is now mature to be a Member of Parliament after agreeing to leave the council seat after two terms with the electorate.
"First as I entered in as councillor for Ward 25, we agreed then that one must be in office for a maximum period of two terms. So I have done my two terms and I have to hung my boots," Mukunguma said.
"Secondly there are some unfinished business that I think I have to do for Highfield as a whole
1. To upgrade Highfield Polyclinic to a District Hospital- Donors as been lined up to fund the project we are waiting for council to finish off the hospital plan.
2. Waste Recycling Station- we have since started this and it's my wish to see it running to a full capacity (USAID is the main donor)
3. On legislative framework- the Devolution Act has to done as a matter of urgency as this will bring development in respective provinces and decongest Harare.
4. ZINARA - this Act has to be repealed to return vehicle license fees back to local authorities," he added.
Meanwhile when Mukunguma was in power he managed to drill fourteen boreholes in his ward and form a social sports tournament which is celebrated annually in a bid to shun drugs in the constituency.
