Citizen Coalition for Change (CCC) councillors elect for Mvurwi Ward Six Tonderai Samhu and Ward One Elisha Benjamin have called Mvurwi town council to order following the delay in refuse collection.
Speaking to this publication the CCC official Tonderai Samhu said refuse is now an eye sore in Mvurwi and he is calling the local authority to act with immediate effect.
"Residents are not happy with the delay in refuse collection by our local authority hence we are calling them to order, we do not understand why it has suddenly changed from what they used to do but we are promising residents that sanity will prevail soon at council," Samhu said.
He also pledged to serve the people and deal with corruption at Mvurwi town council which made headlines over illegal parceling of stands years back.
Ward One Councillor Benjamin claimed that the local authority is beginning to sabotage the new councillors.
"We are begining to suspect that the local authority is sabotaging CCC candidates who took the majority seats by not collecting refuse," he said.
"We are not going to take this matter lightly because we have been elected by the people hence we will deliver as per the people's mandate."
Councillor Benjamin also urged residents to throw litter in the bin for council to find it easy to collect refuse.
