DR Mike Moyo, who proudly identifies as the King Mambo of the historical Rozvi Empire (Dzimbahwe), is hosting the National Traditional Cultural Heritage and Spirituality Celebration Day. The momentous gathering takes place at his regal residence in Mawabeni in Matabeleland South province.

The celebration marks four years today.

King Mambo, in his invitational statement, passionately underscores that "Rozvi" transcends being a particular tribe or dialect; it encompasses the entire nation, embracing its myriad tribes, languages, and dialects.

"We will be celebrating the fourth year since the start of the revival of our traditional cultural heritage and spirituality with King Mambo. A total of 5 000 people are expected to attend from all 10 provinces and 50 buses are expected to ferry people from all four corners of this country

"All tribes, all culture associations and affiliations are equally invited including the Chiefs, headmen, kraal heads and sacred shrine keepers. This is not a new phenomenon but goes back to our roots as our Rozvi ancestors used to brew beer and slaughter cattle at ceremonies called Bira like this one.

"Rozvi is not a particular tribe nor dialect but the whole nation with its different tribes and Languages or dialects which is our strength which made our forefathers to emerge as warriors and plunderers," reads the statement.  King Mambo, alongside the broader traditional culture community and spiritualists from across Zimbabwe, has been instrumental in rekindling traditional values not only in rural areas but also within urban landscapes. They tirelessly work towards reinstating cultural coherence and, in essence, restoring humanity (Ubuntu/Hunhu).

Their mission encompasses instructing teenage girls and young women in personal hygiene, fostering good morals, promoting abstinence, and encouraging self-sufficiency. Likewise, they educate boys to become defenders of their communities, advocate for crime prevention, and instil principles of productivity.

Moreover, their efforts target the elimination of drug and substance abuse, along with the prevention of sexual abuse of children and juveniles. The celebration also serves as a platform to disapprove of same-sex marriages and Vuzu parties, shedding light on the importance of national healing, peace, and reconciliation.

Above all, it endeavours to unify the people, transcending divisions and prejudices. The ultimate goal is the eradication of all forms of discrimination, with a particular emphasis on eliminating tribalism – a vision deeply rooted in the principles of Ubuntu/Hunhu, where shared humanity and unity flourish.

"Our society needs prayers and a collective effort more than ever before. I was called by our ancestors to compliment the efforts of the existing Traditional Leadership as well as the President and the administration of the day. I am not here to dislodge nor disturb anyone but to compliment the good work being done so far.

"We officially declare that we are reporting for duty as per our different traditional callings complimenting each other.

"Fellow Zimbabweans, if we go back to our roots and embrace our traditional cultural heritage and spirituality I promise you there shall be, no one person who will be a beggar and who will be a thief. There will be meaningful wealthy as we already have such wealth, high moral values, high spiritual and cultural heritage as our backbone and return of our self-esteem," said King Mambo.
