Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leader Nelson Chamisa has declared that Zimbabwe cannot afford to wait another five years and vowed to take charge of the country.
In the last election, Zanu-PF's President Emmerson Mnangagwa was declared the winner with 52.6% of the vote, while Chamisa polled 44%. The election received widespread condemnation from local and foreign electoral observer missions for not meeting the standards of being free, fair, and credible.
Chamisa, addressing party supporters in Mashonaland Central Province, expressed his impatience with the current situation in the country and emphasized that waiting for another five years is not an option. He pointed out the challenges faced by Zimbabweans, including a lack of salaries, money, hospitals, and education, and called on his supporters to remain focused on achieving a new Zimbabwe.

He criticized the election process, alleging intimidation, coercion, manipulation, and voter suppression, and argued that the recent polls were illegally facilitated by Forever Associates of Zimbabwe (FAZ), in violation of the country's Constitution, the Electoral Act, and international standards for elections.

Chamisa's statements reflect his determination to challenge the election results and his commitment to pushing for political change in Zimbabwe.
