Man assaulted for demanding his money back

A 37-year-old man from Pleasant View farm Fort Rixon in Matabeleland South is in trouble after assaulting a man who demanded the money he owed him.
Njabulo Mabhena was not asked to plead when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Maxwell Ncube.
He was granted US$50 bail and remanded to December 13.
The court ordered him to reside at his given address until the finalization of the case and not to interfere with state witnesses.
The complainant in the matter is Andrew Sibanda.
It was the state case that on November 30 at 5pm, Sibanda went to Mabhena's homestead where he asked about the money that Mabhena owed him.
Sibanda was told by Mabhena to wait outside his house and he went into his house, after a while he came back holding an axe.
Mabhena struck Sibanda once on his mouth using the back of the axe and he fell and became unconscious.
When Sibanda became conscious, he found locals surrounding him and he was ferried by Julius Mthethwa to his homestead.
The matter was reported to the police and led to the arrest of the Mabhena.
