A 30-YEAR-OLD man from Hopelyn in Bulawayo has appeared in court facing a charge of domestic violence.

Arther Dube was not asked to plead when he appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Maxwell Ncube on Thursday.

He was granted US$ 30 bail and remanded to December 7.

The complainant in the matter is Talent Nyawo.

Dube is Nyawo's husband.

It is a state case that on November 16 at around 10am, Nyawo noted a love message on Dube's cellphone and she confronted him.

The court was told that a misunderstanding arose between the two to the extent that Dube assaulted his wife several times with fists in her face and on the stomach with booted feet.

According to court papers, Nyawo was complaining about stomach pains and she was referred to the United Bulawayo Hospital for medical examination.

Nyawo's medical report can be provided to the court as evidence.

The matter was reported to the police and led to the arrest of Dube.
